As a child I was always creative and loved to draw. As I got older I was unsure what career path to follow so I choose a more traditional route and decided to go to the University of Ottawa. During my second year I decided to explore other options. After finishing my degree, I attended Georgian College and took a 3 1/2 year gold and metalsmithing course. I have never been sorry.
Although being an artist of any persuasion is not easy and most of us never get rich, it is often very rewarding in other, less tangible ways. For a creative person, expressing yourself is often a need rather than a want; kind of like breathing. For me working with metal is something that I never grow tried of. It is so versatile and the possibilities are endless.
I now live with my husband and 2 children in Parham. The natural environment that surrounds my home, as well as my family, gives me inspiration to create, like a well that never runs dry. Whether making jewellery, such as earrings, necklaces, or bracelets or other larger items such as bowls or eggcups, I always enjoy my work. The metal adds endless colour, texture and variety to my work.
